Born in Osaka, Japan, Tadashi Torii attended Georgia Southwestern University as an exchange student to study business. Like most college students, he had to take an elective class. He chose glassblowing and was instantly hooked. Since that moment, Tadashi has been on a quest to understand the mysteries of glass. Tadashi’s work ranges from delicate dragon stem goblets, to vases, to solid sculpture and everything in between. His work has been exhibited nationally at various galleries and museums.
When asked about his thoughts on glass as an artistic medium, Tadashi says.
"I enjoy blowing glass and find it a very fascinating medium to capture my moods and expressions. I like to experiment and learn the techniques involved in seeing my visions come into being."
